




Special grease for installing stainless fittings. It does two things: prevents galling (seizing, cold welding) and reduces the coefficient of friction, so the torque you apply goes into clamping rather than being lost to friction.

The timing is what makes it expensive: this failure happens on first assembly, often before final torque. A seized stainless fitting has to be cut out, not undone — and on an installed line, that means remaking the joint from scratch.
