Ship piping is built to Japanese standards and lives in salt water. Those two facts decide what may be fitted: JIS flanges, not ANSI, and SS316 wherever the salt spray reaches.
Indonesia builds and repairs ships in yards spread from Batam to Surabaya, and the larger share of day-to-day demand comes from repair and docking, not newbuild. There, time is what counts: every day a vessel sits in dock costs money — so the replacement valve, strainer or flange has to be available now, with paperwork a surveyor will accept. Those are the two things we set up for in this sector.

Out of the warehouse
A vessel built to Japanese standards carries JIS piping from keel to deck — not ANSI, not DIN. Replacing one valve means matching a JIS flange, and that is a decision made before the PO, not after the goods reach the yard.
Indonesian-flagged vessels are classed by BKI, international ones by an IACS member. What gets asked for at survey is the same: EN 10204 3.1 material certificates with heat numbers traceable to the material. Ask for them with the quote, not once the part is fitted.
Chlorides in seawater pit stainless 304. SS316 contains molybdenum and resists them. Seawater cooling, deck wash, fire main, and anything that catches spray — all of it is a 316 decision, and the price difference is far smaller than one replacement mid-voyage.
While a vessel is in dock the cost runs daily. Our goods leave the regional warehouse in Singapore or Malaysia within 24 hours of a PO, with complete import documentation — the confirmed schedule is in the quote, not estimated afterwards.
Our square flanges ship as a kit: half A, half B, NBR O-ring, bolts and nuts. No single O-ring left behind in the warehouse while every other part is already at the yard.
Most suppliers stop at the sizes that turn over quickly. Our range here runs the full span — square flanges 1/4″ to 6″ in three pressure series (210K, 280K, 350K), JIS 10K flange-end valves 1/2″ to 6″.

The pressure ratings look similar and the drilling is not. Check the bolt circle against the mating flange, not the pressure — it is the commonest ordering mistake in a yard.
SS316 contains molybdenum and holds off chlorides; 304 does not, and it pits. Anywhere the spray reaches, that is a 316 decision.
Our square flanges arrive as a kit: half A, half B, an NBR O-ring, bolts and nuts — so nothing is left in the store while the ship waits.
EN 10204 3.1 material certificates with the heat number are available — what a class surveyor asks for at inspection.
The “check the bolt circle” warning above has numbers behind it, and they are not simply “small sizes differ, large ones match”: only 2″ and 2½″ share a bolt circle, and at 3″ JIS uses eight bolts where ANSI 150 uses four.
| Size | OD D — JIS 10K | OD D — ANSI 150 | Bolt circle D1 — JIS 10K | Bolt circle D1 — ANSI 150 | Bolts — JIS 10K | Bolts — ANSI 150 | Will they bolt up? |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1″ | 125 | 108 | 90 | 79 | 4-M16 | 4-Ø16 | No — 11 mm apart |
| 1¼″ | 136 | 116 | 101 | 89 | 4-M16 | 4-Ø16 | No — 12 mm apart |
| 1½″ | 140 | 126 | 105 | 98.5 | 4-M16 | 4-Ø16 | No — 6.5 mm apart |
| 2″ | 155 | 150 | 120 | 120.7 | 4-M16 | 4-Ø19 | Bolt circle matches |
| 2½″ | 175 | 180 | 140 | 139.7 | 4-M16 | 4-Ø19 | Bolt circle matches |
| 3″ | 185 | 190 | 150 | 152.4 | 8-M16 | 4-Ø19 | No — 8 bolts vs 4 |
| 4″ | 210 | 229 | 175 | 190.5 | 8-M16 | 8-Ø19 | No — 15.5 mm apart |
All dimensions in mm. The JIS 10K column is as printed on the JIS 10K cast steel Y-strainer; the ANSI 150 column on the ANSI 150 SS316 gate valve. Note that the catalogue prints JIS bolts as a thread size (M16) and ANSI bolts as a hole diameter (Ø16 / Ø19) — two different measurements. Even at 2″ and 2½″ it is only the bolt circle that matches; confirm bolt size and flange thickness against the mating flange on your vessel before ordering.

Only at 2″ and 2½″, and even there it is only the bolt circle that matches (120 vs 120.7 mm; 140 vs 139.7 mm). At 1″, 1¼″ and 1½″ the bolt circles are 6.5–12 mm apart. At 3″ JIS uses eight bolts where ANSI 150 uses four, and at 4″ they are 15.5 mm apart. The pressure rating is not the check; the bolt circle and the bolt count are.
SS316 contains molybdenum, and that is what gives it chloride resistance. 304 has none, so it pits in salt water. Anywhere sea spray reaches — seawater cooling, deck wash, fire main — it is a 316 decision.
Yes — EN 10204 3.1 material certificates with heat numbers are available on request. Ask for them with the quote so the paperwork travels with the shipment rather than following it to the yard.
As a complete kit: half A, half B, NBR O-ring, bolts and nuts — 1/4″ to 6″, in three pressure series, 210K, 280K and 350K. Nothing is left behind in the warehouse while the vessel waits.
Goods leave our regional warehouses in Singapore and Malaysia within 24 hours of a PO, with complete import documentation; the confirmed delivery schedule is stated in the quote. The quote itself comes back within 2 working hours.
